Is there a way to change the animation previews from AVI to something like MP4?

Most of my colleagues are Mac users and reluctant to download VLC player. MP4 would work for me, checking on Iphones and allow me to send it to my team for a quick preview.

I don’t think there is but you can pretty easy use VLC to convert it to an MP4 and I’m sure you have VLC…

Steps to convert AVI videos to MP4 format in VLC Media Player:

  • In the VLC menu on top bar click Media > Convert/Save .
  • In the Open Media window, click on Add to select videos you want to convert.
  • Click on Convert/Save at the bottom
  • In the Convert box, select the destination folder and the name for the new video file.
  • Under Profile , select MP4 video format from the list of formats.
  • Click Start to convert.
  • The converted video files are saved at your designated location.

I did not know you could do that in VLC I appreciate that Oscar, You’re becoming a hero for all my keyshot-based issues!

As a feature request, it would be nice to change the output within keyshot if Keyshot sees this.

Haha thanks! For Photoshop or PC related questions, you may message me as well. To show people previews I also use Whatsapp Desktop a lot, it will convert all to MP4 as well I think. But here in The Netherlands everyone uses Whatsapp, even those with iPhones, not sure if people do in other countries.

I also put your suggestion on my list of suggestions I create while testing the beta so it will be in the next PDF I send to KeyShot as well.
